Hello,

I happened to find your iCal Birthday Shifter useful and decided to check out your Web site. A nice concordance to find your metaphysics section! You might check out mine, www.boogieonline.com/seeking, if only for the quotes.

A few brief comments:

* I haven't had the time to delve into Kabbalah as much as I'd like. I've explored more into physics, epistemology, and Buddhism, with brief familiarity with other branches of mysticism, including Kabbalah, Sufi, Taoist, Hindu/yoga, neo-shaman, Scientology, New Age, ...

* The problem I have with "belief creates" is "whose belief is it?" Belief and will are conditioned, so chasing "power" is yet another dead end. Otherwise, "belief creates" is a useful metaphor for describing the "patterns on the glass."

* Re: inconsistent memories, one theory I have is that different people collapse the wave function differently, so there are multiple incompatible "universes" walking around, but when those meet, they must again collapse to compatibility, so the less-dominant one becomes delusion or misperception and the more-dominant becomes "real." This also explains situations where you learn about something in the past that you never heard of before, but should have -- i.e. it didn't exist in your universe until you met someone in whose it did.

* The centerpiece of nearly all mystic traditions is an experience ("enlightenment" etc.) attained by single-pointed focus of mind. Buddhist meditation is among the techniques used to attain this. Practice of such a technique is required to pass beyond the limits of knowledge.

Back to the original purpose ... An ex-programmer myself, I switched from Linux to Mac OS X this year and am enjoying it. I've toyed with the idea of learning Cocoa as a hobby, but I don't have the time to really put into it. Anyway, thanks for the freebie iCal bit -- it saved a bit of typing, which I've put into this email instead. ;-)

Great profile!

I guess I should get around to extending my own profile page a bit as well (it kinda falls into nothingness compared to this one)

Dude, one hell of an extensive profile there, and all, may I add, made up.

Matt lives next door to me in his parents basement. Sometimes kids go up to the window and shout things at him, he usually scares them away with some kinna stick.

Only joking, the man is a legend and one hell of a useful guy to have around.
