I Love My Mac

The best thing about Garageband is that it lets just about anyone create songs. That’s also the worst thing about it.

The other day, I found the iCompositions site, where GB users can upload their musical creations. Go there right now and register (it’s free), and then go to the list of Daphna’s songs. Choose “I Love My Mac” (either the original or revised versions), and listen to it.

I died a little inside on the first listen, but I’ve got to confess that it’s growing on me.

Update: It’s become something of a lab craze here. And, of course, I’m now humming it ceaselessly.

Certainly is pretty catchy.

This song is pretty catchy. It reminds me of A Laptop Like You (well, different songs, but both are about loving their mac): http://www.jonathancoulton.com/music/Jonathan%20Coulton%20-%20A%20Laptop%20Like%20You.mp3

An even better song by that same guy:

Thanks for the link, Kevin.

If Clare Grogan were still recording today, she’d be making songs like this. And I’d be the lanky, awkward git that she chases after.

(Just a brief off-topic note: I’ve deleted the Mac-vs-PC comments that were here. We’re not going into the platform wars thing, end of story. My blog, my rules.)

I think it’s worth mentioning that Lauren couldn’t stand I Love My Mac, actually tearing the earphones from her ears after no more than about 45 seconds of it. True story.
