Here’s a note of the state of play in my life, for posterity:

All in all, a pretty good year. The blog has been neglected of late but I’m hoping to rectify that, particularly on the Cocoa front. I have some new source to post when I get a chance, and in due course i want to talk a little bit about my current projects. But not today (story of my life).

After discussing it about a hundred times, I’ve finally scribbled down some Sheercore comics (which now seems to mean both comics actually related to Sheercore – the best movie never made – and also accounts of my daily online chats with the superstars of my university years). The strips are up on sheercore.com, and new ones will be posted there periodically.

Well, it only took a year and a half to put up the teaser page for Sheercore.

God knows how long the actual movie will take to film, assuming that the cast are all still even available.

Cocoa Source Code Page

I’ve moved all my Cocoa source code from my old site to a new page on this site; you can find the link on the sidebar, or you can just go straight to the code. I’ll continue to post in the Source category here whenever I add or update some code, and I’ll try to keep the source page up to date.

In keeping with that principle, I’ve updated the page to mention both RoundedBox and TunesWindow, so it’s now a fairly accurate list of all the stuff I’ve released.

Lastly, for historic interest, I’ve tweaked the increasingly-creaky old Irate Scotsman site (my previous blog) so that you can now browse the 520-odd posts over there. I feel obliged to say that I’ll transfer the posts over at some point, but… come on now. When am I seriously going to get around to doing that?

Oh, and one other thing: if you’re in or around Glasgow this evening, drop by Pivo Pivo from 7pm onwards. We’ll be having some CompSoc pub quiz action, with the inevitable Music Round courtesy of our very own Stevie Gray. Joining me on Team Sheercore (or whatever we’re going to call it) are Lauren, Strowes and of course Big Chris. Hope to see you there!

This is the first installment in something I’ve been toying with for a while: recounting some memorable moments from my Honours years in the Department of Computing Science at Glasgow University, in comic strip form. There’s a huge wealth of material for future strips, though it remains to be seen how often I’ll add new strips (if indeed I ever do).

It’s important to note here that these are things that actually happened. Today’s episode stars myself and the inimitable Big Chris. Until I set up a decent template for this category in the blog, or move the strips elsewhere (perhaps to my recently-acquired sheercore.com domain), I’ll just link to the strip: here it is. Enjoy.

Quick update

So I haven’t posted in a few weeks; sorry about that. This’ll have to do for a little while longer, since I’m pretty busy at the moment.

Some assorted details about my life in the recent past:

Lauren and I are absolutely great. It’s actually been even better than before since she got back from her holiday during the Easter break. We’re both totally in the same place about the relationship and its future, and things are pretty much 100% perfect in all areas. This is exactly what the whole game of Life is about.
My exams start on Monday and continue until Thurs 26th. I am a bit stressed.
Mac OS X Tiger is great. I made a Sheercore widget for the Dashboard to tell me how cool I am.
Lightsabres are damn ace. I really wish I had one. Man, the stuff I could do with one of those things. Generally, I think about lightsabres way more than I think about my university work. I think that’s reasonable.
