As I discussed (or perhaps threatened is more appropriate) on Twitter recently (I’m @mattgemmell, by the way), I decided to try my hand at creating a personal podcast. This isn’t about Cocoa/Mac/iPhone programming, though I do discuss what I’m working on right now; it’s more about what I’m generally up to at the moment, what I’m thinking about or interested in, and suchlike.
If you’re looking for all-techie stuff, this probably isn’t for you. If on the other hand you’re interested in hearing me massage my already dangerously-large ego, then you might get some enjoyment from it. I’ve split it into sections, with contents as follows:
- Coding: the dock-related app
- Videogames: Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition, Myst for iPhone
- Thoughts: Legacy
- Cool Stuff: ColorToy
- New Toys: Netbook
- Reading: H. P. Lovecraft
- Movies: Transformers 2, Harry Potter 6, Iron Man 2
- Music: La Roux
Fair warning: it’s pretty much unscripted except for brief notes, and I deliberately did it in one take; it’ll probably be rough around the edges. But it’s about me personally, so I wanted it to be real. Maybe it works and maybe it doesn’t, but it was at least fun to do.
For best results, you can subscribe to the podcast in iTunes (that link will open iTunes, naturally).
If you’re using some other podcast-listening application which supports podcast RSS feeds, you can probably subscribe using this URL: http://mattgemmell.com/podcasts/coffee_times.rss
Alternatively, you can just listen to this episode. It’s an MP3, and it’s around 23 minutes long.
And please, leave a comment.
