Each year, the venerable MacTech magazine publishes its MacTech 25 list of “The 25 most influential Rock Stars, MVPs, Prophets, and Pundits in the Apple Technical Community”. I’m very flattered to be able to say that I’m included this year, and I just wanted to say a sincere thank you to those who voted for me.
The list is constructed based on nominations and votes from the community itself, so it really does mean a lot to me. It’s validating and comforting to know that some of you feel you’ve derived some value from my thoughts and articles here, source code, speaking engagements, the World According To Gemmell on The MDN Show, or even just my chatter on Twitter.
The compliment is made even more meaningful to me by the calibre of the other winners, many of whom I’m privileged to call my friends and colleagues. Many well-deserved congratulations to Wolf, Brent, Jeff, Craig, Aaron, Scotty and Marcus, and indeed to everyone on the list, and thanks again to the most welcoming community I’ve ever worked in. I’m certain I speak for everyone when I say that I look forward to continuing to contribute.
